The Apple iPad has not only revolutionized the way we access information and entertainment, but it is revolutionizing the way we do business. With the help of innovative software developers such as LightSpeed and Zerion Software, everything from completing retail transactions to writing traffic tickets is becoming more mobile, more streamlined, and more efficient.
The Retail Solution Providers Association (RSPA) recently
awarded the LightSpeed for iPad product with the 5th Annual Innovative Solutions Award in the Software
Application Category. LightSpeed for iPad gives retailers the freedom to create
invoices, enter customer information, process gift cards, check inventory, and
process payments from anywhere on the showroom floor, or even beyond the store,
such as at a sales event. To add robust scanning, LightSpeed offers an option
that includes the Socket CHS 7Ci, which allows retailers to scan multiple items
for purchase or inventory quickly and accurately.
Meanwhile, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana is receiving recognition for their use of the Apple iPad and Socket CHS 7Xi for mobile ticketing/citations. Using Zerion Software’s iFormBuilder data collection platform, the Sheriff’s Office has been able to increase both efficiency and revenue. Their innovative solution has just been selected as a finalist in the 2012 Mobilizer Awards. Presented by Mobile Enterprise Magazine, the 11th Annual Mobilizer Award honors public and private enterprises that have transformed their businesses by deploying wireless mobile solutions. Winners will be announced at the Mobile Enterprise Executive Summit in November.
